Phi Sigma Rho
Alpha Gamma Chapter
Letter from the President:
Current President of the ΑΓ chapter here! I'd like to take a minute to tell you about this phenomenal group of women I am so fortunate to be part of. I joined Phi Rho as a freshman & honestly, I don't even think I realized I was joining a sorority in the beginning. We were just a group of girls in engineering looking for a community to jump into & eager to develop as scholars, leaders, friends, & people. Little did I know, I had just made one of the best decisions of my life & now I can't imagine where I would be without these ladies.
It's hard to explain what Phi Rho is all about (one of those things you have to experience to understand) but I'll try my best. These girls are my stronghold, my inspiration, & my comfort. As a Phi Rho, I have a family of 30+ to encourage me in every endeavor & help me grow into the person I aspire to be. The transition into adulthood is a confusing whirlwind of brilliant successes & heart breaking failures. Phi Rho is an entire community to help you get back up when you stumble & majorly celebrate every step in the right direction. In addition to the usual stresses of young adult life, being a female in a STEM field comes with unique challenges. Having a network of best friends going through the exact same thing is such a blessing.
We know each other's flaws & quirks & love them for it. We know each other's strengths & help cultivate them. We have a passion for service & philanthropy & bettering the community. We provide major opportunities for leadership experience & development. We share a love of learning & support each other through rigorous course work. We are each other's roommates, wing women, study buddies, chauffeurs, moms, inspirations, cheerleaders, second opinions, partners in crime, & best friends. I can't express how grateful I am to these women for giving me endless love & support, & I can't wait to see how the sisterhood grows in years to come as more & more fabulous girls chose to become a part of Phi Sigma Rho.
